2^ Conferenza internazionale delle radio universitarie Università di Cambridge, Inghilterra (14-16 agosto 2019)

Sta per iniziare Alternatives 2019, la 2^ Conferenza internazionale delle radio universitarie, che avrà luogo all’Università di Cambridge, Inghilterra, dal 14 al 16 agosto 2019. Un'opportunità per le radio universitarie e studentesche di tutto il mondo di riunirsi per ascoltare e condividere esperienze con altri colleghi, professori e operatori di questo straordinario ambiente alternativo e di apprendimento. Attesi circa 60 partecipanti provenienti da 15 paesi!

Lo scopo di questa conferenza è fornire alla comunità globale delle radio universitarie un forum per conoscersi, ascoltare approfondimenti e idee sulla radio degli studenti e trovare opportunità di cooperazione in tutto il mondo.

La conferenza di 3 giorni comprende discorsi di esperti e professionisti, seminari e attività di networking. L'ultimo giorno della conferenza si svolgerà una cerimonia di presentazione speciale per riconoscere tutti i partecipanti.

Nell'ottobre 2016, l'Università di scienze applicate di Lahti e la sua college radio, Limuradio, hanno ospitato la prima conferenza internazionale sulle web radio universitarie, Alternatives2016, in Finlandia. All’evento parteciparono 80 persone da tutto il mondo! Le radio universitarie parlano di alternative: forniscono un'alternativa a metodi e ambienti di apprendimento più convenzionali. Sono inoltre un'alternativa alle forme tradizionali dei media con spazio a musica underground e culture diverse. La conferenza è organizzata dal team del World College Radio Day, che si tiene ogni anno ad ottobre.

• 9.00 AM: "Going Beyond...The Art of the Interview"

A practical workshop that will explore strategies and ideas on how to get the best radio interviews in a variety of circumstances. Will include group work and an assignment in the city of Cambridge.

• 11.00 AM: "From Pitch to Spin: How labels and stations make magic together"

Music and student radio have a  vital link. But are student radio stations still effective tastemakers? This session will talk about understanding the music industry promo cycle, which can help land better guests for your station, create better working relationships, get more music coming in, and be a part of the artists' history. An insider's view of the booking process will also be discussed.

• 1.00 PM: "Digital Storytelling – creating compelling transmedia content for your radio station"

Not all content for radio should just be audio. This is a hand-on workshop, utilizing the latest hand-held technology, that will see groups go into Cambridge to create compelling audio and video content that will then be edited for maximum impact.

• 3.00 PM: "University radio: progressive creators of social change?"

What role does student radio have in discussing and addressing the important issues and topics that society faces today? How can student radio have an impact? This workshop will discuss how student radio can be used as a tool for creating change in society.

All presenters and participants of the conference will be recognized in this closing ceremony. Attendees are free to leave after this event as there will be no further official events/activities planned.
